Volunteer – please join our Facebook Page for updates on volunteering

Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.

Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis. In Aylesbury we recruit new volunteers by announcing vacancies in our Warehouse on our Facebook Page. We are generally looking for volunteers who can commit to a morning or afternoon shift on the same day of each week.

Warehouse volunteer

We need help to weigh, sort and store donated food before it’s made into parcels for delivery to our distribution centres around Aylesbury . You could help in this vital work to ensure we have the right food available at all times.

Delivery Drivers

We have our own van , and occasionally look for drivers who can help us deliver food to our distribution centres and pick up food from Tesco Broadfields and Aylesbury Waitrose, as well as other collection points around Aylesbury. We do not deliver food parcels to peoples homes for Safeguarding reasons.

Helping at a foodbank centre

Most of our Distribution points / Foodbank Centres staff their own Foodbank Centres so we rarely look for vacancies to support this work. If you are a member of the Community that operates one of our Centres I am sure they would be happy to consider your support.

Web editor

Our local website needs constant attention. Could your digital skills help communicate our message to a local and global audience? You will need to know a little about websites and ideally have experience of using WordPress (though training and support is available).

If you are interested in volunteering please email us at [email protected]  we’d love to hear from you!
